Flat tote material planner

Budget a simple flat bag with two body panels and two handles; gussets, lining, top hems and reinforcement must be specified separately.

Edit the planning assumptions

All starting values are design examples. Changes stay in this page’s memory; no plan is uploaded or saved automatically.

Continue with a tool

Links pass the current panel list, cost or batch values where compatible. Other tool assumptions still need checking. Check thread pitch, material thickness and supplier pack sizes in the destination tool.

Prototype before cutting the final hide

  1. Check handle length on a full-size mock-up, including the portion attached to the body.
  2. Add lining, gussets, turnbacks, folded hems and reinforcement to the panel list separately if your design uses them.
  3. The rivet input counts fittings only. It does not specify post size, attachment placement or safe carrying load.
  4. Prototype handle attachments on the intended leather, and test the actual assembly for its intended use before carrying valuables.
